I love the phrase “The art of self-awareness” and what it has to say about life. I’ll admit that I haven’t gotten very deep with this phrase, but I do know that I’m a better person for it. I’ve seen all kinds of people, some who are super successful and accomplished, and others with less.
I love the idea of taking self-awareness to the next level in a positive way. I think it would be great if we could turn our awareness into a skill that would help us to be better at something.
self-awareness is a skill, and to be a skill is to be able to use it in the right way. The more you know about yourself the more you can use your knowledge of yourself. If you know that you are a good driver, then you are going to have to drive a car that is good at driving. If you know that you are a good swimmer, you are going to have to swim a body of water that is good at swimming.
The problem is that our awareness is a skill because we can’t actually use it in the right way. We often don’t realize that we are using it in the wrong way. Our awareness is as much an attitude as it is a skill. It is a way of perceiving ourselves, but it is our ability to perceive ourselves that determines our success and our failures. If I am a good swimmer, I am going to swim in a pool.
What we can do to turn our awareness on to be a better swimmer is to simply practice swimming. I can assure you that if I just did it every day, I would definitely become a better swimmer. The reason why you can swim better while you are swimming is that your awareness is so strong that you are able to take off from one place and swim to another in the blink of an eye.
